I no longer believe in any part of the creeds.
Qohelet´s last [type] ..New book giveaways
Qohelet, that’s intense. Why do you still go to church?
Derek Ouellette´s last [type] ..NT Wright on Genesis 1-3
I do not believe in the doctrine of the imputation of the active obedience of Christ…
Not really “doctrinal” thoughts, more so practical or existential:
The typical “Sunday morning service” is boring and repetitive. And I’ve thought and felt that way for over 5 years now. Aren’t people just being discipled to be apathetic and passive about their faith by the way we practice “church” corporately? And why does no one (particularly “leadership”) ever want to talk about these questions/reflections?
And do we really need to have competing churches (even in the same denomination) all across town asking for money?
There’s more, but that’s a start…
Brian, neither do I. One thing I don’t think I could say in church is that I lean towards Open Theism.
@Josh: That’s a big brush you’re painting with.
Derek Ouellette´s last [type] ..On the Slander of Open Theism
interesting Derek,
I do not know enough about the open theism position to comment.
I will say that I might have some sympathy in that direction. Not that I believe that God does not know what will occur, more that the bible often presents Him as reacting to things that humans do. I guess…
